Main objectives

The student study club “21st Century Banker” is an interdisciplinary platform for the exchange of views, which stimulates the deepening of knowledge and the acquisition of practical skills. In the specific maze of the globalised economy, the club pursues its mission according to the motto: “Science – passion – knowledge.” The primary objective of the club is to promote knowledge of broadly understood banking systems and their impact on the real economy by recognising the mechanisms of creation, circulation and settlement of money in the modern economy. By pursuing the main basic objective, we aim to achieve ambitious scientific goals consisting of:

• constant exploration of the problems of contemporary banking systems
• anticipation of future changes concerning the direction and evolution of banking systems
• identification of the mechanisms and effects of the emergence of systemic risk in the global economy
• recognition of the integrated risk management process in the activities of financial institutions in terms of institutional arrangements.

These objectives are pursued by means of seminars, conferences, and meetings with practitioners and experts from the world of finance.

Activities of the club

1.      In the academic year 2020/2021, the club organised and co-organised scientific workshops entitled:

• “Career start-up in Covid conditions” 20.11.2020
• “Cybersecurity Best Practices through the eyes of an auditor” 24.11.2020.

2.      In the academic year 2019/2020, members of the club participated in the following scientific conferences and training workshops:

• III edition of the Scientific Seminar “On Nobel Prize in Management” (11 November 2019; Auditorium of the Faculty of Management, Czestochowa University of Technology)
• Webinar “Living with a virus. Financing residential property during the pandemic” (28 May 2020; training platform)
• Training and workshop delivered by the Silesian Association of Real Estate Appraisers (28-29 October 2019; Czestochowa) “Valuation of real estate developed with petrol stations” conducted by Mirosława Czaplińska
• Training and workshops delivered by the Silesian Association of Real Estate Appraisers (25-26 February 2020; Istebna) “Analysis and valuation of investment areas” conducted by Adam Polanowski; “Recognition of trees of basic species in leafless state” conducted by Marek Gancarczyk; “Practical aspects of determining the degree of technical wear and tear” conducted by Grzegorz Motyl; “Analysis of the real estate market in the light of the experience of the Arbitration Commission of the Polish Federation of Real Estate Appraisers Associations”
• III International Scientific Conference Contemporary Issues in Theory and Practice of Management CITPM 2020 Czestochowa University of Technology, Faculty of Management, a paper entitled “The Analysis Barriers to the Development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises in the Aspect of “Friendly Law Package”
• III Polish Scientific Conference “Dimensions of Migration” (24 January 2020; Faculty of Political Science and Journalism, Maria Curie-Skłodowska University, Lublin)
• Conference IACIS Europe – Virtual Conference organised by the Management Institute, Warsaw University of Life Sciences – SGGW, Warsaw Poland, 27-29 May 2020.

3.      In the academic year 2019/2020, members of the student study club participated in competitions, including:

• The Index Investment Challenge – stock market game (March-April 2020)
• II stage of the Academy of Capital Market Leaders – 14th Edition.

4.      In the academic year 2019/2020, members of the student study club also actively participated in the organisation of:

• A Santa Claus event at the Faculty of Management of Czestochowa University of Technology (5 December 2019),
• A campaign to register potential DKMS bone marrow donors (2 December 2019),
