Accreditation of the International Project Management Association Poland
for the IPMA-Student certification
for the second-cycle studies in Design and Project Management

What is IPMA®?

IPMA® (International Project Management Association) is the world’s first project management association founded in 1965. It runs a certification system based on PROJECT MANAGER roles. It has many years of experience in building a professional competence assessment system for project management. The IPMA 4-L-C international certification system is widely recognised and used by many companies in their recruitment and employee development path-building processes.

IPMA Poland (International Project Management Association Poland) belongs to the federation of national associations of the International Project Management Association (IPMA®). IPMA Poland has 23 years of experience and over 9500 certified Project Managers!

What is the IPMA-Student Certificate?

The accreditation of the study programme makes it possible for students and graduates of the second-cycle programme in Design and Project Management to obtain a professional certificate recognised on the job market – the IPMA-Student certificate.

IPMA-Student is a certification programme that DOES NOT REQUIRE project management experience.

IPMA-Student is one of the first steps in building a PROJECT MANAGER career path. IPMA-Student is an introduction to the 4-level IPMA® certification system (IPMA 4-L-C). Each level verifies new skills, competencies and aptitudes of a project manager.

The IPMA-Student Certificate is not only a summary of academic education in project management but, above all, an objective and employer-recognisable certificate of competence, which is universal regardless of the industry. The IPMA-Student certificate is valid indefinitely and does not require recertification.

To obtain the IPMA-Student certificate, students need to take a certification exam to confirm their competencies.

Who can take the IPMA-Student certification exam?

The certification exam is open to students and graduates (no later than one year from graduation) of second-cycle studies in Design and Project Management who have obtained credit for the courses covered by the accreditation and paid the examination fee to IPMA Poland.

The cost of he IPMA-Student certification exam is 300 PLN gross, which is less than 25% of the cost of the lowest certification level in the IPMA 4-L-C certification system – the IPMA-D certificate (Certified Project Management Associate). If you take the IPMA-D certification within one year of obtaining the IPMA-Student certification, you will receive a discount on the IPMA-D exam price equal to the cost of the IPMA-Student exam.

What does the IPMA-Student certification exam look like?

The IPMA-Student certification exam is organised by the Faculty of Management, either directly at the Faculty or online.

The certification exam is a test with 104 single-choice questions on the 26 IPMA Competency Elements – 4 questions per Competency Element as defined in the IPMA-Student Guide ed. 2.0. The pass mark for a single Competency Element is the correct answer to at least 2 of the 4 questions. To obtain the IPMA-Student certificate, a minimum of 80% of the Competency Elements must be passed.
