Graduate profile

As a graduate of the specialisation in Design and Project Management, you will acquire broad knowledge in the field of management, especially project management, and the implementation of new products and services. You will be able to create and manage project teams in a nonstandard way, act proactively and creatively, and shape new innovative products and services – you will become a manager creating business space in a world of constant change. At the same time, project management is combined with knowledge and competence in design, i.e. the ability to create new products and services, including those based on visual arts, multimedia, and ergonomics. In addition, you will be able to analyse and assess the economic, social and environmental conditions of the contemporary market, and you will become familiar with the financial instruments used in business, including business activities related to creating innovative microenterprises. You will know and be able to use modern information and multimedia technologies, as well as methods of product and service promotion and sales. You will be able to create projects of innovative solutions, assess their applicability, then implement and optimise the best of them. You will also be properly prepared to organise new projects and work in creative and project teams. Based on the interdisciplinary knowledge gained during the studies, you will be able to formulate strategic goals and action strategies in creating and then implementing new projects: products and services. You will also be prepared to act as a leader in creative project teams, and will have knowledge in the field of designing, establishing and running your own innovative business. You will acquire knowledge and skills in the above-mentioned areas in courses such as Management and Design Thinking in Business, Project Management, Visual Arts and New Media, E-Business Management, Strategic Business Management, Business Plan Design, and Innovative Business Management.

Possible employment

As a graduate of Design and Project Management, you will be ready to run your own business project based on the creative implementation of new products and services and find employment in both public and private sectors, for example:

  • in companies producing and implementing new projects and innovative solutions, both in products and services
  • in companies in the multimedia and visual arts, graphics, promotion and advertising industries
  • as a consulting specialist for business projects, design and creativity
  • in organisations providing organisational and business consulting services in the area of the design and implementation of new projects and business models
  • in research institutes, consulting, advertising and design companies
  • in third-sector organisations (NGOs) working on projects in, for example, social innovation.

Potential job positions that a graduate of the course can take up:

  • project manager, project team manager, innovation manager
  • creative entrepreneur, including in the multimedia industry
  • project development and business research specialist
  • marketing research manager
  • new product/service development manager
  • analyst of innovative projects
  • designer and design thinker
  • public relations specialist.

Further education

Graduates of the first-cycle study programme can take up full-time and part-time second-cycle studies in Management in Polish or English.
