In studying Finance and Accounting in Business, you will acquire professional knowledge in the field of finance, risk in finance, accounting, taxation and the functioning of financial institutions, including banks, insurance and investment companies, as well as public institutions. Finance and Accounting in Business is a study programme created in cooperation with the business world, enabling students to gain practical skills in analysing basic micro- and macroeconomic phenomena and the financial condition of households, businesses and other organisations.

Financial Manager Specialisation

This specialisation is designed for people who highly value practice in addition to theory. This is because we place great emphasis on workshops with practitioners, enabling you to apply the theoretical knowledge in business practice. We organise scientific workshops with representatives of the business environment, as well as high- and middle-level managers (from finance directors of major corporations to heads of tax offices), who analyse contemporary economic challenges. In our specialisation, you will acquire the skills necessary to compete and function in the labour market. Today, we already know that the future labour market will not be so much an employee's market but rather an employer's market, which is why practical skills are so important.

You will learn

By choosing our specialisation, you will learn how to make optimal financial decisions using modern supporting tools and you will enhance your analytical skills – the most important competencies in modern finance. You will learn to properly use advanced tools and techniques to assess the efficiency, effectiveness and safety of business entities in conditions of risk and uncertainty. You will learn about the external determinants that affect the financial security of business entities and financial institutions. In particular, you will gain valuable skills in constructing financial models tailored to changes in macro-environmental conditions.

The curriculum of the Financial Manager specialisation is designed to cover the scope of material required for the international Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) exam and indirectly for the Polish Investment Advisor exam. You will obtain the knowledge of the main concepts of financial management, and the implementation of appropriate analytical tools necessary to take strategic and operational managerial decisions of a financial and fiscal nature in companies, public entities and financial institutions. By completing our specialisation, you will be ready to lead your own business project, especially in the field of advanced financial analysis and optimisation of decision-making processes in the financial and tax area with the use of IT tools and SAP software.

Your future

As a graduate of our specialisation, you will find employment in a very wide range of entities in both the private and public sectors, in particular in nonfinancial enterprises in finance departments or financial institutions (banks, leasing companies, factoring companies, etc.) in company service departments, consulting agencies, auditing companies, or in financial departments of public entities. You will also be prepared to run your own business and its financial activities and also to manage a household budget. Potential job positions: financial manager, financial director, financial and tax advisor, investment advisor, credit inspector in a bank, specialist in risk management in banks and enterprises, financial analyst, etc.

Specialisation in Investment and Real Estate Management

By choosing the specialisation in Investment and Real Estate Management, you will gain knowledge in two main areas: investment management and the real estate market. The specialisation guarantees you the opportunity to improve your competencies in terms of knowledge and services of the real estate market by preparing you theoretically and practically to cooperate with real estate and financial investment entities. By studying our specialisation, you will acquire comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in finance and accounting in companies as well as insurance and financial institutions, in addition to the functioning of financial markets and the use of their instruments. Furthermore, thanks to the agreement concluded between Czestochowa University of Technology and the National Chamber of Real Estate Management, upon graduating from the Investment and Real Estate specialisation, you will obtain a KIGN real estate manager's license and a KIGN real estate agent's license.

You will learn

By completing our specialisation, you will gain in-depth knowledge and broaden your skills in the field of real estate management, the preparation and evaluation of investment projects, formulation and implementation of various investment strategies (both financial and material), and will learn about the nature and significance of business insurance. You will learn how to effectively manage risk in business activities. You will also be prepared to work as a real estate manager, real estate agent, licensed real estate appraiser, and licensed investment advisor.

Your future

As a graduate of our specialisation, you will possess the relevant knowledge and qualifications to take on a job as an investment project specialist and profitability analyst, investment advisor, real estate agent, real estate manager, and property appraiser. The education you obtain while studying in our specialisation will give you adequate preparation for work in the following entities: companies (financial and investment departments), financial institutions, banks, investment funds, consulting and insurance companies, local and state administration offices, property development companies, real estate agency offices, property management offices, real estate appraiser offices, housing cooperatives, and your own business activities.

Completing studies in the Investment and Real Estate Management specialisation will open up a career path for you, guarantee you rapid development, and will very likely translate into financial success.

Specialisation in Accounting and Taxes

The specialisation in Accounting and Taxes is dedicated to students who dream of working in the financial and accounting departments of companies, and accounting offices, or think of doing accounts for their own business. Therefore, in this specialisation, you will have the opportunity to gain experience in keeping company accounts, and also using IT tools, by learning to use software such as Sage Symfonia, Comarch ERP Optima, Płatnik, SAP, which are commonly used in Polish and foreign companies. The knowledge you acquire in tax and balance sheet law and the use of accounting software will enable you to carry out specific business processes, and consequently will have a positive impact on your professional work. In addition, in the accounting and taxation specialisation, you will acquire skills in business law and social security, and you will also learn how to manage taxes in a company and apply the basic principles and tools of cost accounting and management accounting.

You will learn to use Sage Symfonia, Comarch ERP Optima, Płatnik, SAP software, and the knowledge you gain will enable you to undertake professional activities in bookkeeping, solving current tax problems and managing a business entity.

As a graduate of our specialisation, you will gain the ability to use accounting software: Sage Symfonia, Comarch ERP Optima and Płatnik, SAP which will certainly make it easier for you to find a job in an accounting office, in entities with financial and accounting departments, but also in administrative, financial, tax or human resources units.

Specialisation in New Business Services (full-time studies)

The specialisation in New Business Services is dedicated to students who dream of working in large international corporations, supported by top-class computer systems. Therefore, during this specialisation, you will have the opportunity to gain experience in operating the SAP system, used by such companies as Grupa Energia, Orange Polska, PGNiG, PKP Energetyka or ZF. Working in a virtual company on the SAP system will allow you to become familiar with and learn how to operate the system and its functionalities, which will be reflected in your future professional work. In addition, in the New Business Services specialisation, you will acquire skills in company cost, process, and innovation management. In this specialisation, you will also gain knowledge in corporate financing, in addition to financial monitoring in business and management accounting. You will also learn methods to optimise decisions, as well as improve and develop organisations.

You will learn to use the SAP system. Moreover, you will learn about IT tools to support business processes, financial markets and elements of financial engineering.

Your future

As a graduate of our specialisation, you will acquire the ability to operate the SAP system, which will also certainly make it easier for you to work with other financial and accounting software, not only in accounting but also in administrative, logistics, procurement or sales administration departments.
