Graduate profile

Design is an ambiguous word. It refers to applied art, functionality, ergonomics and the ease of use of objects. This concept is related to design, including industrial design, but also refers to a project. It refers to both the concept itself and the effect of its implementation. Design is the process of designing, but it is also the objects that are designed – it is the whole process contained in a single word. Project management, on the other hand, refers to the set of activities carried out in order to achieve a specific goal or goals within a set time. The curriculum for the second-cycle programme in Design and Project Management is prepared in such a way as to teach graduates how to successfully combine these two elements in their professional practice.

As a graduate, you will be able to skilfully determine the objectives of a project, taking into account equipment, as well as human and financial resources. You will also be able to plan a series of activities to achieve the main objective and to manage a team using the skills of its members, at the same time taking on the role of a team member. You will be able to delegate tasks to your team, motivate them during their work, and acknowledge their performance after completing the project so that they become a valuable resource for the company – a close-knit team motivated and focused on specific goals.

As a graduate of Design and Project Management, you are a creative person, open to changes, knowing that each change can be treated as an opportunity. You are able to manage a project by taking advantage of trends. You also know that being creative does not exclude being analytical, and you are able to successfully combine the two. In addition, you also know how and when to build a team in which the skills of its members complement each other. You are also able to use your creative thinking to create objects (products) that meet current and changing market needs, stand out visually and remain functional.

As a graduate, you will be able to use your skills both as a project manager in an organisation and in your company. You will be able to adapt your actions depending on the size of the organisation, the environment in which the organisation operates, and the profile of the segment you are targeting. You will be able to create a place of self-employment based on your skills and passions. You will know how to promote it so that the recipients will see its unique value. In this way, you will be able to generate your income by setting goals and working toward them.

The curriculum of the second-cycle study programme in Design and Project Management allows you to build up knowledge and experience in many areas during your studies. You will study visual arts, new media and their culture, and you will also learn how to manage projects using modern techniques and acquire management skills.
